Full job description
The Pacific Campus of Kennewickis looking for a part-time Medical Office Receptionist to join our energetic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is seeking a career path into the medical field. While this position starts in a part-time capacity (approximately 15-20 hours per week), there may be potential to move to full-time.

Basic Job Duties:

Patient Scheduling: Efficiently schedule appointments for primary care and behavioral health services, ensuring accurate entry of patient information into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Patient Registration: Greet and register patients, collect necessary demographic and insurance information, and verify eligibility for services.
Check-In and Check-Out: Facilitate the check-in and check-out process, including collecting copayments, ensuring patients are seen promptly, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Phone and Email Communication: Respond to patient inquiries and schedule follow-up appointments via phone and email, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries and documentation.
Medical Records Management: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, nurses, and/or other team members to ensure a seamless patient experience and efficient office operations.
Billing Support: Assist with basic billing inquiries, liaise with billing departments, and provide patients with billing information as needed.
Administrative Duties: Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, faxing, and ordering office supplies.
Communication: Facilitate communication between the patient and healthcare provider, relaying any questions or concerns the patient may have.
Assist the Medical Office Director with other office-related tasks (as needed)
While the primary responsibilities of our Medical Receptionist are focused on administrative and patient service tasks, there may be occasions when they are asked to assist as a medical chaperone. This non-essential function involves accompanying patients during sensitive medical examinations or procedures to ensure their comfort, privacy, and emotional support.

Patient Comfort: Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing sensitive examinations or procedures, helping them feel more at ease.
Assist Provider: Assist the healthcare provider as needed, which may include handing them instruments or equipment during the examination.
Documentation: Maintain documentation of the chaperone's presence during the examination, adhering to clinic policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience as a medical receptionist
Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Google Docs/Sheets and experience with electronic medical records systems
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
CPR/AED/BLS Certification
