Benefits of Pilates (STOTT Pilates® Method)
Pilates is a low-impact, highly effective exercise system designed to strengthen the body, improve mobility, and enhance mind-body awareness. At The Pacific Campus, we use the STOTT Pilates® method, a modern approach to Pilates that incorporates the latest research in biomechanics, spinal rehabilitation, and athletic performance.
Core Strength & Stability
Pilates focuses on strengthening the deep core muscles that support the spine and pelvis. A strong core improves posture, protects the back, and creates a solid foundation for all movement.
Improved Posture
Many people spend long hours sitting or working at a computer. Pilates retrains the body to align properly, helping reduce tension in the neck, shoulders, and lower back.
Increased Flexibility
Through controlled movements and intentional stretching, Pilates helps lengthen muscles and improve range of motion without placing excessive strain on the joints.
Better Balance & Coordination
Pilates develops body awareness and control, which can improve balance, coordination, and gait. This is especially important for active adults and seniors looking to maintain independence and prevent falls.
Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation
The STOTT Pilates® method emphasizes proper alignment and controlled movement, making it an excellent complement to physical therapy or injury recovery programs.
Stronger Mind-Body Connection
Pilates encourages focus, breath control, and intentional movement. This helps improve concentration while reducing stress and promoting overall wellness.
Gentle Yet Effective for All Fitness Levels
Pilates can be adapted for beginners, athletes, seniors, and individuals recovering from injury. Exercises can be modified to meet each person at their current level of strength and mobility.
