Job description:

Position: Adventure Camp Counselor, Seasonal
Department: Family Programs
Reports to: Yzabelle Openshaw, Family Programs Director
Pay Range: $17.13/hr.

The Pacific Campus, premier health and sports campus of the northwest, has an immediate need for Adventure Camp Attendants, Seasonal, to join our team!

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Under general supervision, oversee and monitor activities for Campers ensuring a safe and fun environment.

● Supervise and engage Campers throughout all activities on site and on field trips. inclusive of a variety of games, swimming, rock climbing, crafts and other recreation.

● Effectively communicate with Campers and their parents/guardians, Family Program teammates and Director, and other facility staff to ensure excellent customer service and positive interactions.

● Ability to ensure instructions are given, understood and followed, applying appropriate conflict resolution skills as needed.

● Complete daily paperwork as necessary during assigned shifts

● Report all accidents, perform basic first aid and assist with the completion of paperwork as needed.

Successful candidates MUST commit to the full season
(June-August) working 15-40 hours per week. Seasonal benefits include full Campus membership privileges for themselves and eligible dependents, including use of the jungle gym nursery (during usual business hours), discounts, and quarterly guest passes!

SPRING BREAK CAMP: MARCH 30 - APRIL 3

SUMMER CAMP: JUNE 15 - AUGUST 28

Required Qualifications:

16 years old or older
Babysitting/Childcare or youth volunteer experience
Great with kids
Energetic
Excellent communication skills
Active listening skills
Vibrant
Compassionate
Dependable
Patience
Ability to work independently or as a team.
Ability to follow instructions and to work safely
Ability to work the entire summer (June 15- August 28)
Pass background check
Physical:

Ability to stand/sit/squat
Maneuver tables and stacks of chairs
Lift or carry 30 pounds
Walking outdoors for up to a mile
Swimming Required-Must pass given swim test
Supervising outdoor activities for up to 3 hours
Preferred Qualifications:

Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
Athletics- played a sport
Volunteer work with youth activities
